Want to know what’s new in SAP Business One? Here are our key takeaways from the latest release, and a look at what’s to come.
This November, SAP released its latest update, software package (SP) 2511, bringing a set of enhancements to make your everyday work that bit simpler.
The improvements that come with SAP Business One SP 2511 are designed to help small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) work more efficiently, gain clearer visibility of their operations and create a smoother user experience across the board. Rather than adding complexity, this update focuses on outcomes: helping teams get to information faster by reducing manual effort and strengthening performance behind the scenes so that the system keeps pace with your business.
Here’s our round up on the latest release and how it can be of benefit to your business, as well as an update on what we know about the next update, FP 2602.
While many changes happen behind the scenes, the benefits are very much user-facing. SAP has continued to honour its pledge to improve security, with SP 2511 featuring advancements that will help to further protect financial data. There are also new and enhanced features that influence operational efficiency: fewer interruptions, smoother reporting and an overall more resilient infrastructure.
Compliance has also been addressed, enhancing the freedom of documents that partners and users can easily import, as well as flexibility, through a series of small improvements that make the system easier to shape around your processes.
Collectively, the updates that come in SP 2511 illustrate that SAP continues to invest in stability, usability and long-term value for SMEs.
With the SP 2511 update, there are a series of new and improved features that support a variety of different users for SAP Business One. Here’s our key takeaways:
The latest update brings the ability to make new custom fields for incoming and outgoing checks. Finance teams can now track and report on check movements in a way that reflects internal processes; this means you’ll have access to much cleaner audit trails, with easier cash management and a reduced reliance on manual notes or spreadsheets for data capture.
What’s more, finance teams will also benefit from all round better document sharing features for customers and partners. Sales documents, like accounts receivable invoices for instance, can now be exported as PDFs with embedded XML data, which benefits import mechanics – leading to fewer errors and faster processing. It also makes compliance easier, as this process is compatible with various industry standards for documentation. Ultimately, it also lends itself to cleaner, more consistent reporting layouts using your own Crystal Reports.
With the SP 2511 release, SAP Business One now officially supports Microsoft Windows Server 2025. For users planning their next hardware or operating system refresh, this provides welcome clarity around the versions available to them. The addition of Windows Server 2025 means businesses can move to the latest Microsoft platform with confidence, ensuring long-term stability, security updates and ongoing compatibility with SAP Business One.
This direction of travel mirrors SAP Business One’s compatibility with the latest Windows 11 operating system, which was recently announced to be a reliable platform for running version 10.0 FP 2305 or later. SAP Business One supports a variety of the latest Microsoft operating system versions, with the full list below. Should you wish to migrate, contact our team for more information.

SAP continues to focus on a more, stable resilient system, recognising how some background services operate to improve reliability and reduce downtime. With these improvements, users can expect to experience fewer interruptions when admin changes are made, and a more predictable performance. In general, this should pave the way for a smoother user experience, especially during upgrades.
While the SP 2511 update brings plenty of practical improvements to us today, SAP is already shaping the next wave of enhancements, and February’s FP 2602 release is set to push the Web Client even further forward.
It’s evident that SAP is strengthening Business One in three strategic areas; security and compliance, usability, and integration. The updates that have just landed, and those that are to come, also show continued investment in making SAP Business One more connected to modern ecosystems – such as Microsoft 365 and Azure applications. The updates are reassuring; SAP Business One remains a core, evolving product. From what we know, here’s what customers can expect from the first update of 2026, and why it matters.
A quick reminder that SAP can change this direction prior to the official release.
FP 2602 is expected to introduce a new process map, clearer UI patterns and extended usability features for users of the Web Client. For users, this means fewer clicks, better navigation and a more joined–up experience across sales, purchasing, inventory and production activities.
There will also be integration enhancements for Microsoft 365 and Outlook 365, with extensibility capabilities for API, user-defined values and webhooks.
In the near future, SAP will be continuing its journey to bring more of the core Business One functionality into the Web Client – including pick-and-pack, production orders, landed costs and correction invoices. This will help teams work from anywhere without losing the depth of functionality they rely on.
Cross-tab reporting and new printing options are on the horizon. Combined with enhanced Crystal Reports deployment, this should give managers clearer, more flexible insights without relying on complex exports.
Expect better webhook support, expanded user-defined object compatibility, and enhanced email and attachment handling through Microsoft 365.
In summary, FP 2602 looks set to be all about making the Web Client even smarter, broader and more connected – paving the way for a more flexible, modern SAP Business One experience.
If you’re reviewing your server roadmap or considering an upgrade in 2025 and into 2026, this expanded support gives you greater flexibility and future-proofing as part of your wider IT investment strategy.
