Thinc insights
We’re proud to help our clients grow and to play a part in their trajectory. Here are three stories that show what’s possible when technology matches ambition.
For businesses seeking that next big step in their growth, a transformative injection of funding can be what’s needed. Whether it’s through venture capital, private equity, angel investment or an acquisition, that external investment can be the difference between stalling and taking flight.
This kind of investment isn’t won easily. To secure it, you’ll need to understand what these investors are looking for. You’ll need a clear grasp of your financials, current and forecasted; an understanding of business trends and potential new markets; and a clear, sustainable path to profitability.
Underpinning, and enabling, all this, you need a technology infrastructure that’s built to scale with you.
At Thinc, helping ambitious companies grow is our passion. Our expertise in SME-focused business and finance technologies, comprehensive managed services, and our proven AmplifyTM approach puts our customers on a pathway to smarter, more scalable working.
We’re proud to help our clients grow and to play a part in their trajectory.
To celebrate those successes, here are three stories that show what’s possible when technology matches ambition: JUBEL, Synergy Hire and Bulldog Skincare.

JUBEL makes beer with a difference, and which makes a difference. The fruit-infused tang of its beers set it apart in the market, while its B Corp certification is evidence that it’s committed to sustainable production. This perfect brew has seen the brand become a fixture in pubs and supermarkets across the UK.
We started working with JUBEL not long after it had secured its second round of funding. It was clear that the company’s growth ambitions required a step change from Excel-heavy operations. The decision was taken to move to SAP Business One.
As a result, the company can manage all its operations, from materials to production planning, in one place, with KPI dashboards tracking everything.
At a time when sales were doubling, the team achieved a 25% improvement in operational efficiency – the equivalent cost of a new hire.
The growth shows no sign of slowing. In 2024, Jubel enjoyed a 94% sales growth.
“The temptation is always to do different things and add more in. But actually we’ve simplified and stripped back to the core elements that drive growth in our business and it’s working. We’ve now got people in key cities across the UK and are continuing to hire. We will continue to do that and grow in a considered way, city by city, pub by pub until we’re established nationally.”
Jesse Wilson, Founder and CEO, JUBEL, interviewed by the Financial Times

The Fitzpatrick brothers know what it takes to grow, having taken their previous business to the level where it was sold to private equity investors. They were a natural choice to lead Synergy Hire, the first plant hire company that Japanese giant Hitachi had launched in the UK.
The brothers soon realised that a robust ERP system was needed – and fast. It had to integrate with an industry-specific system, with readily available financial information required to help with on-the-ground decision making and reporting to the board in the UK, Japan and the Netherlands.
After exploring their business needs, SAP Business One was agreed as the way forward. Our collaborative approach meant that Synergy Hire received a very personalised solution, specific to its requirements.
This gave Synergy Hire a digital core that integrated with the industry solution – all turned around in just eight weeks.
“We were able to easily understand the advantages of each option and arrive at the best decision for our staff and business needs. The consultants at Thinc demonstrated a very thorough understanding of SAP Business One and could easily see where and how it could be implemented to help our business.”
John Fitzpatrick, Director, Synergy Hire

Walk down any men’s health aisle and you’ll soon see the wall of Bulldog products. Emerging in 2007, the company had already enjoyed rapid growth, but in 2015 needed support to help it expand overseas.
When we spoke to the team, it was apparent that their systems could no longer keep pace. Financial and stock reconciliations were complex, and data entry was duplicated. Our solution was to bring their business onto SAP Business One, giving them real-time reporting, complete material requirements planning and full integration with electronic data interchange.
The result? Rapid business growth with zero headcount increases in the supply chain.
A year later, the company was successfully acquired by the American healthcare brand Edgewell Personal Care.
“With our minds put at ease by the Thinc approach, we knew that in SAP Business One we had found a scalable solution that would meet our business requirements and allow us to grow, not just now, but for many years to come.”
Simon Duffy, Co-Founder, Bulldog Skincare
